"Insuring sustainable and certain supply of bamboo raw material for African-Bamboo panel production, rehabilitation of existing (and quickly disappearing) natural bamboo forest in the Bale mountains is necessary.
With the results of our first quick forest assessment, the first steps have been taken into the direction of sustainable bamboo forest management together with the local community. African-Bamboo provide them another source of income to preserve the forested steep slopes instead of convert these into agricultural or pasture land.
From the supply chain, pre-processing up to the final product, the complete value chain of producing panels for flooring remain in Ethiopia".
